Time for technology !

Welcome back blog buddies the past three weeks we have been looking at what technology is and the different  ways we could use them. We had the BP challenge with Mr R, The papertronics with Mr Riceman and finally we made Geo boards with Ms Sands. The papertronics and he BP challenge were very frustrating.
But in Ms Sands Geo board session I got to let out loads of frustration with the hammer. Check out some of the cool photos -

My favourite part was using the hammer in the Geo Board activity, in the BP challenge it was beating the team on the right by one little bit and coming second overall, and lastly in the papertronics I liked coming up with ways to solve problems. Have you done any of these challenges? if you have did you find it easy of hard ? please feel free to leave a Positive, thoughtful and helpful comment.
Blog you later, Bye

Stop Motion Madness

Hey Blog buddies, this Friday we used an app on our Chromebooks called Stop motion Animation. I joined forces with Oscar and we created Rocky Rocko and Fishy Finn meet at last. Stop motion is when you take a whole lot of photos and they create a video like this -

My favourite part was making the sculptures and adding googly eyes.
when you do stop motion you need to remember to use small movements you it looks like a video. My least favourite part having to squish the playdough at the end.
I like stop motion because of all the mediums you can use and plus you can make it look real of cartoon like. Next time I would use clay because it would not smell like salt. Have you used stop motion? If you have then remember to tell me in a comment. Feel free to leave a Positive Thoughtful and Helpful comment.
Bye Bloggers.

Crazy Commenting !

Welcome back blog buddies, today in Cybersmart we commented on one of our friends blog post then on this rubric below copied and Pasted the comment and figured out what we could change.
First we had to check the comment for punctuation, grammar and spelling,
Second we had to check it it followed the PTH ( Positive, Thoughtful and helpful ) rule and if it had a question. Lastly we had to read it, check it with a buddy and see if it was fully completed the PTH.
Here It Is :

The Red is all the stuff I changed. If you wrote this comment what would you change? My favourite part was adding the question, and my least favourite part was having to highlight the changes in red. Fell free to leave a Positive, Thoughtful and Helpful comment. Blog you later, Bye.
Thanks to Skye and Shabeera for being my buddy's today.

The Elevated Explorer

Welcome back blog buddies, Today I am going to share a ' Flood proof house '
We read the story Building for the future. If you would like to check it out click this link !  Our house has to withstand a storm / flood and we brainstormed some things
like :
What your house could include :
  • Poles for the wind to pass through
  • Transportable house
  • A border
  • Strong foundations
Here is my DLO*

My house includes three ' Houses ', one of the three is elevated with stairs attaching the elevating house.
My favourite part was building the elevated house and adding the stairs. Do you think this would withstand a ( small ) storm ? If you thought my house was cool please let me know by leaving a positive thoughtful and helpful  comment. ( I will reply ) Blog you later, Bye.

A remembrance of Anzac Day / WW1

Hey Blog Buddies, You probably all know  that Anzac Day is very big for New Zealand and Australia.
The first thing I learnt about War WW1 in particular  is the " New Zealand Solider Known unto God " Means they were lost at sea, lost in general or blown up.
They have Little "dog" tag like things that they pined onto their jacket so when they died they knew who they were !
We made a little cross patch at our school, me and my Friends took some photos.
Here they are:

As a Guide I marched in one of the Many Anzac services!
Unfortunately I have no photos of me in my uniform : (
what did you do on ANZAC day ?????????????
My class Hauraki put out all the crosses : )
What ANZAC stands for :
A - Australia
N - New
Z- Zealand
A - army
C - Corps
Please feel free to leave a positive and thoughtful comment.
Bye Bloggers : )
