The Elevated Explorer

Welcome back blog buddies, Today I am going to share a ' Flood proof house '
We read the story Building for the future. If you would like to check it out click this link !  Our house has to withstand a storm / flood and we brainstormed some things
like :
What your house could include :
  • Poles for the wind to pass through
  • Transportable house
  • A border
  • Strong foundations
Here is my DLO*

My house includes three ' Houses ', one of the three is elevated with stairs attaching the elevating house.
My favourite part was building the elevated house and adding the stairs. Do you think this would withstand a ( small ) storm ? If you thought my house was cool please let me know by leaving a positive thoughtful and helpful  comment. ( I will reply ) Blog you later, Bye.

A remembrance of Anzac Day / WW1

Hey Blog Buddies, You probably all know  that Anzac Day is very big for New Zealand and Australia.
The first thing I learnt about War WW1 in particular  is the " New Zealand Solider Known unto God " Means they were lost at sea, lost in general or blown up.
They have Little "dog" tag like things that they pined onto their jacket so when they died they knew who they were !
We made a little cross patch at our school, me and my Friends took some photos.
Here they are:

As a Guide I marched in one of the Many Anzac services!
Unfortunately I have no photos of me in my uniform : (
what did you do on ANZAC day ?????????????
My class Hauraki put out all the crosses : )
What ANZAC stands for :
A - Australia
N - New
Z- Zealand
A - army
C - Corps
Please feel free to leave a positive and thoughtful comment.
Bye Bloggers : )

Te Teriti o Waitangi, The Treaty Of Waitangi

Welcome back blog buddies, This Term we looked at The treaty of Waitangi in our reading group. We used a Google doc and answered questions in a story called Te Tiriti o Waitangi. We had questions like who was the agreement between, and why was it  needed. As per usual I wanted to share mine with you. Do you know anything about the treaty of Waitangi ?  Anyway hear it is.

I learnt that they got all the Chiefs to sign the treaty.
Pretty cool right, have you read the treaty yet? My favourite part was answering the question "how did they get 500 Maori to sign the treaty. What was yours ??
Next time I would change the font ! I think that I could have done better all round but, I think it is still pretty good ! Feel free to leave a positive and thoughtful comment! Blog you later, Bye.

Vertebrates, Invertebrate What is It

This week for inquiry we looked at different types of  animalsand what category they fell under ! Our group was a big part of it, because we were vertebrates. We did a activity were bus stopping was very necessary. We put our ideas on a large piece of paper then the group that started with the paper had to make skit, song or anything that would show what the type of animal was. EG fish, mammals, birds, and invertebrates. Here some of the groups that I really enjoyed.

Another Group :

What video was your favourite ? Mine was the second one!My favourite part was rehearsing, and my least favourite part was making the scripts! ( because our group kept forgetting things ) I think the most embarrassing part was presenting because I got nervous ( lol )Feel free to leave a positive and thoughtful comment! Blog you later, Bye.
Sorry the video of my own Presentation was not available.

Welcome back blog buddies, I hope that you had a great Easter holiday !

Here are some photos that I didn't take but then you'll get the idea of what I did.

Super Sea Week !

The past few weeks in reading we looked into Sea Week, Our  main focus was to complete an Info graphic by the end! We  used many resources, the first being Young Ocean Explores On our Chromebook. The Next day we went to our school Library, and looked in the Non - Fiction Section, For anything that may have information about the sea or Sea Week in particular. And the finale day of research came. Posters, Posters, Posters. We looked at many kinds but my good friends  Lavinia and  Amaya helped me chose my final topic ( they ended up doing it with me ) So here it is :

I hope you liked It, it took a lot of hard work. My favourite part was editing all the slides and photos. Did you do anything around Sea Week in your Class ?
Remember to click each slide and cool pictures show up ( #Editing Power )
What was your favourite animal ( yes a sponge is a animal )
Hope you liked my slideshow, Please feel free to leave a positive comment.

New Zealand's first ever launch

Hey bloggers,  New Zealand had it's first ever rocket launch.
Since then New Zealand have launched more rockets! We did our reading on the launch. I made an info graphic on the rocket. NASA were a part of the whole launch however it was not NASA who launched the rocket.
I found most the information on the kiwi kids news website all though I found more information on the news hub website.
both of the links take you to websites that have information on the rocket launch.

It was hard and there was a few bumps along the way.
we had to include different shapes, fonts and pictures.
my favourite part of the work was picking all the fonts.
Please feel free to leave a positive comment, Blog you later.
