In depth day with Des Hunt

Hey blog buddies, part of week three was Amazing. A Bestselling Author from our country New Zealand came to visit our school and do workshops with some people !
In the presentation with the year 5 and 6 students he told us about one of his Favourite books " The Last Tuatara " and how he sent it of to loads of publishers
but none of them accepted to publish the book. So he stopped writing for 3 years until he read a book called " Rejects "
Here Are some cool photos !

Now you have seen all the photos I made a slideshow with all my information about one of his larger books ' Sunken Forest'.
Here it  is !

Have you read one of his books ? I have 2 of them and they are signed because we could buy them and he would sign them in front of us ( wow ), I have ' Deadly Feathers ' and ' Search For The Kiwi Killer '  Do you like the slideshow or photos/ If you do please tell me that by leaving a Positive, Thoughtful and Helpful comment ( i will reply )!  Blog you later, Bye.

Welcome back blog buddies, In week 5 we went to Tiritiri Matangi to look at and investigate our Native wild life wildlife. We had one tour guide between two groups.
We spent 3 hours on the ferry and 40 minutes on the bus altogether.
I liked the bus ride back because we got to watch Moana!
Here are some cool photos !

I was in a group with Shabeera, Bruno, Ben , and Alex .Have you have been to Tiritiri Matangi Island ?  If you would like to tell me then leave a Positive, Thoughtful and Helpful comment .  Thanks for reading! The Elevated Explorer

Welcome back blog buddies, Today I am going to share a ' Flood proof house '
We read the story Building for the future. If you would like to check it out click this link !  Our house has to withstand a storm / flood and we brainstormed some things
like :
What your house could include :
  • Poles for the wind to pass through
  • Transportable house
  • A border
  • Strong foundations
Here is my DLO*

My house includes three ' Houses ', one of the three is elevated with stairs attaching the elevating house.
My favourite part was building the elevated house and adding the stairs. Do you think this would withstand a ( small ) storm ? If you thought my house was cool please let me know by leaving a positive thoughtful and helpful  comment. ( I will reply ) Blog you later, Bye.
