Crazy Christmas Dress Up !

Aloha Blog buddies, last Friday we had to bring a gold coin to help raise money for Christmas hampers by dressing up. Some children wanted face paint so some kids in my class did face paint on others like Christmas Trees, Candy canes and Reindeer faces. I was one on the face painters !
Here are some photos of the day :

I really liked help raise money for hampers because we were helping people over the Christmas season, I loved dressing up and seeing everyone with there creative costumes. My most favourite part was doing the face paint. However I did not like making mistakes with the face paint and having to go swimming and my face paint coming off. I hope you liked my blog post about Christmas dress up day, Please feel free to leave a positive, thoughtful and helpful comment. Stick around for the summer learning journey.

Jumping Gymnasts !

Welcome back blog buddies,
This term we have been working on our inner Gymnasts. We went to Tri Star which is our local Gymnasium, it's even home to Olympians! Our classes all walked down on Wednesday which was our first session down there and the next week it was Monday. We had other sessions in our school hall With Coach Mo and Coach Mesha.
Each time we learn new skills and challenged ourselves. The coaches bring in new equipment and even more fun each week.
Here are some Cool Photos :

We did rotations with the different coaches, I liked jumping on the spring board doing flips into the foam pit and bouncing on the trampoline. Some things that I found difficult were swinging upside down and balancing on the beam. Next time I would try harder to work on my balance. I would recommend Tri star Gymnastics because you have a chance to learn new skills and go out of your comfort zone.

Pacifica Peter Pan Thinking Hat Reflection !

Aloha Blog Buddies, Last week we did our school production 'Pacifica Peter Pan'
In our production I was Wendy Darling. We did a reflection using De Bono Thinking Hats. One of  the thinking hats are White Which resembles facts and Red that resembles feelings. Here is my slideshow With my thinking hats:

My favourite thinking hat is the yellow hat because it a very happy hat, The hardest hats to do in my opinion are the Green and blue hats because we have to write what we could have improved and the blue hat is what we could have improved.
Overall I loved Production, It has Definitely been a highlight of my year.

Adventurous Athletics Day !

Hey blog buddies, A few weeks ago our school held our annual athletics day. We were separated into our age groups. We started at 9:15 AM. Our first event was Shotput. Have you done athletics before ? My favourite event was High Jump because I came 4th place jumping 1 meter and 3 centimetres. Here are some photos of the day !

What photo was your favourite ? At the end of every Athletics day we do a House Relay, I was in Tui. I think our team came second! We had a sheet of paper that tracked our house points, We got house points for moving at rotations and for individual people. The points are added up and the year group with the most points get's an Ice block. My least favourite part of the day was probably the  sprints.

Ako Hiko Film Festival (Term 3)

Welcome back blog buddies, in Term 3 Te Waka Ako was part of the Ako Hiko Film Festival. The Ako Hiko Film Festival is when you have to create a movie that is 3 minutes long. During that process we needed to learn about the different shots and camera angles, like An up shot or wide shot. We also had to plan, so we used a storyboard and planned each shot/scene. We started off small by doing a knock, Knock joke.

We also had to make another one about Change, when we had finished the teachers picked the best one from each class then they entered the video. I did mine with Shabeera, Flynn and Sam. Here it is (it was not finished),

I think our group did alright with the movie, but I think we could have worked on cooperation. We tried to use as many shots as possible. We could have done a little bit more planning. Have you entered into the Ako Hiko Film Festival ? If you have please let me know in the comments ! Please feel free to leave a positive, thoughtful and helpful comment. Blog you later !

Moment In Time Writing !

Welcome Back Blog Buddies, In week one we did a 'Moment In Time' writing. We had five photos to chose from and I picked two and I made a story with both the photos. I chose the  'Roller Coaster' and the 'haunted house' photos. Here is the writing and the photos.

As the water whips my face I see another mountain we have to climb in our old rickety cart. "This water park has been around  for so long I am surprised that we haven’t been killed by ghosts of something," says Zell“Yeah I was thinking the same,” follows Jane, "maybe there's like a haunted house around here that we could go to after we get off this old piece of wood..."
As the four children slowly approach the haunted house they see two eyes peer out the entrance, it happens again but this time it speaks.
"What are you doing here", the children are flabbergasted to find out that it could speak.  " We are here to save the lost spirit" Announces Zell. "No We Aren't" declares Lilly. " anyway, we want to explore this place" exclaims Joan !
Then the peer of eyes said Creepily " come on in children, you will be just fine " To Be Continued.......
So did you like my description?
If you did, please feel free to comment down below and tell me what I could improve in next time. My favourite part of the writing was being able to come up with a story based of the photos we had! Have you done 'Moment In Time' writing before? If you have what was your favourite part. I like Narrative writing because there are no limits as to what you do, where as in moment in time you're stuck in a certain time.
Please Feel free to leave a positive, thoughtful and helpful comment. Have a Great long weekend. Blog you later, Bye!

This Is Me Performance By Waikowhai Intermediate !!!!

Hey blog buddies, this week we went down to Waikowhai Intermediate to watch their dress rehearsal of  ' This Is Me ' We went down to the intermediate on a bus which the school provided. ( we were very lucky as it rained )  As we are doing our show on the same stage it made me a little bit nervous.  We saw some of our good friends from last year like, Hame, Izzy, Joyce and Dorothy.
We made De Bono thinking hats to think more deeply about the show. Here it is -

My favourite part of the show was all of the dances!
I liked it when we saw our friends come on stage. They did really good remembering their lines too. They had a Kapa Haka, hip hop Group, band, contemporary dance group and an Island mix. The show was about diversity, differences and personalities, And how it is Ok And Good to be different. Here is the Intermediate School link - Link. Super Saturday Netball

Hey Blog Buddies, On Saturday we had netball PRIZE GIVING. We entered two teams, an A team and a B team. The A team was called  the ' Waikowhai Thunder '.
On the 15th of September we went to Waikowhai Intermediate to find our placing and to go to the Prize Giving. We ended up placing second behind New Windsor School.  Here are some cool pics -

What was your favourite photo ? Mine was our group photos. By the way if you want to go and look at any of the netball players' blogs they will be at the end. I think our hardest game was Dominion Road or New Windsor School. I would like to thank all the parents, umpires and coaches for making this netball season possible.

Fun On Interland

Hi blog buddies a few weeks ago we discovered what Interland was, we had to make a presentation of our choice on what Interland is. I decided to make a slide for each activity. I have showed how to play two of the games. Have you played Interland? If you have did you get an award ?
Here It is :

What was your favourite part of the slideshow ?
My Favourite part of Interland was figuring out new ways to solve the problems, and try help people. My favourite part of the slideshow is the Characters because they all have different personality's. My least favourite part in Interland Is Tower Of Treasure, I don't like it because trying not to hit things is hard.
So now I have said some good thing about Interland will you like to play it ?
Please make sure to leave a positive, thoughtful and helpful comment.

Time for technology !

Welcome back blog buddies the past three weeks we have been looking at what technology is and the different  ways we could use them. We had the BP challenge with Mr R, The papertronics with Mr Riceman and finally we made Geo boards with Ms Sands. The papertronics and he BP challenge were very frustrating.
But in Ms Sands Geo board session I got to let out loads of frustration with the hammer. Check out some of the cool photos -

My favourite part was using the hammer in the Geo Board activity, in the BP challenge it was beating the team on the right by one little bit and coming second overall, and lastly in the papertronics I liked coming up with ways to solve problems. Have you done any of these challenges? if you have did you find it easy of hard ? please feel free to leave a Positive, thoughtful and helpful comment.

Stop Motion Madness

Hey Blog buddies, this Friday we used an app on our Chromebooks called Stop motion Animation. I joined forces with Oscar and we created Rocky Rocko and Fishy Finn meet at last. Stop motion is when you take a whole lot of photos and they create a video like this -

My favourite part was making the sculptures and adding googly eyes.
when you do stop motion you need to remember to use small movements you it looks like a video. My least favourite part having to squish the playdough at the end.
I like stop motion because of all the mediums you can use and plus you can make it look real of cartoon like. Next time I would use clay because it would not smell like salt. Have you used stop motion? If you have then remember to tell me in a comment. Feel free to leave a Positive Thoughtful and Helpful comment.
Bye Bloggers.

Crazy Commenting !

Welcome back blog buddies, today in Cybersmart we commented on one of our friends blog post then on this rubric below copied and Pasted the comment and figured out what we could change.
First we had to check the comment for punctuation, grammar and spelling,
Second we had to check it it followed the PTH ( Positive, Thoughtful and helpful ) rule and if it had a question. Lastly we had to read it, check it with a buddy and see if it was fully completed the PTH.
Here It Is :

The Red is all the stuff I changed. If you wrote this comment what would you change? My favourite part was adding the question, and my least favourite part was having to highlight the changes in red. Fell free to leave a Positive, Thoughtful and Helpful comment. Blog you later, Bye.
Thanks to Skye and Shabeera for being my buddy's today.
